The Today view keeps current hours, draft work, queued signatures, and next actions in one place.

Log rope-access hours off-grid, collect supervisor signatures, track gear, and export a tamper-evident record when someone needs proof.
The field workflow
Rope Access Logbook is built around the work: quick entries, signed records, gear state, NDT notes, and exports that can survive a skeptical review.
The Today view keeps current hours, draft work, queued signatures, and next actions in one place.
Capture who signed, what they reviewed, and the entry state at the moment of approval.
Once an entry is signed, corrections become amendments instead of silent edits.
What changed
Write entries from the trailer, tower, or platform. The device database is the source of truth; cloud backup is optional.
Capture a signature on your phone or send a one-time remote link when the supervisor is no longer beside you.
Hours, signatures, chain state, gear, and supporting records are ready to hand over when assessment or audit time arrives.
Tamper-evident proof
Corrections are amendments, not silent edits. Every signed entry folds in the previous hash, so the record can be checked instead of merely trusted.
Site, method, hours, height, notes, photos, gear, and NDT context get written while the details are still fresh.
status: draft
required_fields: complete
The signer reviews the actual entry, not a loose summary. Their signature seals a canonical version of the record.
signature: R. Calloway
hash: a3f9c1e4d702
If a signed entry changes later, every following link shows the break. That is the point.
#0147 -> #0146 -> #0145
chain_valid: true
Remote signing
Send a one-time signing link. The supervisor reviews the entry, signs from their phone, and the completed signature syncs back into your chain.
Create request. Choose the finished entry and the signer expected to witness it.
Signer reviews. The link opens the real entry details before signature, including the work and hours.
Sync it back. The completed signature lands in the same tamper-evident history.
Hard questions
A logbook app deserves skepticism. The record is your career. Straight answers to the questions people actually ask:
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. Your paper logbook remains the official record for certification. Rope Access Logbook is independent software built for audit-readiness: a signed, tamper-evident record of your hours that doesn't fade, tear, or get left in a truck. It backs your paper book; it doesn't replace it.
They don't have to trust it — they can check it. Every signed entry is hashed, and every signature folds in the hash of the signature before it. Change one field after the fact and the chain stops verifying. Ink can be altered quietly; this can't be.
You can write fake hours in a paper book too — a logbook has always been claims plus a supervisor's signature. The difference here is that the signature is bound to the exact content of the entry at the moment of signing. What the app removes is the quiet after-the-fact edit, which is where padded logbooks actually come from.
You amend it — a new entry that points back at the original, with both kept in the record. Same discipline as a corrected paper logbook: cross out and initial, never erase. A record that can be silently rewritten isn't worth signing.
They don't have to. Send a one-time signing link and they review and sign from their own phone in a browser — no app install, no account. If they leave site before your paperwork is done, the record doesn't stall.
The app is offline-first. Logging, on-device signing, gear records, and exports all work with no connectivity. Only remote-signing links and cloud backup need a connection, and both catch up when you're back in coverage.
Your records live in a database on your device — the source of truth is local, not our servers. Cloud backup is a convenience on top, and every export is a file you keep. Your career history shouldn't be hostage to any company's uptime, including ours.
